Abstract:

China’s GDP growth rate has steadily declined from 12.2% in the first quarter of 2010 to 6% in the last quarter of 2019. What are the factors behind this slowdown? In this public lecture, Dr. Yu Yongding will present his views on the causes. The Chinese government has set a growth target of around 5% for 2024. Will China be able to reach this target? Dr. Yu will also discuss the conditions that China must meet to achieve this goal.
