East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore, and National School of Development, Peking University, Forge Collaborative Partnership

Singapore, May 2, 2024 – The East Asian Institute (EAI) at the National University of Singapore and the National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a collaborative partnership.

The MOU, signed on April 26, 2024, by Prof. Alfred Schipke, Director of EAI, and Prof. HUANG Yiping, Dean of NSD, aims to enhance academic cooperation between the two institutions.

“Amidst the complex global economic and social landscape, the significance of evidence-based research for effective policymaking cannot be overstated,” remarked Prof. Schipke. “This partnership between EAI and NSD will facilitate a robust exchange of ideas and expertise, ultimately contributing to informed policy decisions.”

Prof. HUANG Yiping added, “We are excited about the possibilities this collaboration brings. By leveraging the strengths of both institutions, we aim to generate impactful research and foster greater understanding on both economic and social issues.”

The collaboration will encompass various activities, including an annual joint conference, joint research projects and workshops, collaborative publications, and visiting fellowships. These initiatives will serve as platforms for scholars and researchers from both institutions to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

新加坡，2024 年 5 月 2 日 – 新加坡国立大学东亚研究所 (EAI) 与北京大学国家发展研究院 (NSD) 签署谅解备忘录 (MOU)，建立合作伙伴关系。

该谅解备忘录由东亚研究所所长席睿德教授(Prof. Alfred Schipke)和国家发展研究院院长黄益平教授于2024年4月26日签署，旨在加强两机构之间的学术合作。

“在复杂的全球经济和社会格局中，循证研究对于有效决策的重要性怎么强调都不为过，” 席睿德教授表示。“东亚研究所和国家发展研究院之间的这种伙伴关系将促进思想和专业知识的有力交流，最终有助于做出明智的政策决策。”
