Abstract:
The speaker will discuss about his new book, Asia’s Reckoning, which unpacks the old resentments, rival ambitions, and alliances of convenience that have defined the trilateral relationship between Washington, Beijing and Tokyo since the 1970s. If the United States laid the postwar foundations for modern Asia, now the anchor of the global economy, the new book reveals how that structure is falling apart.
