Description
The Luminex Instrument System sets the standard for multiplexing, offering the ability to perform up to 100 different tests in a single reaction volume on a flow cytometry–based platform. Using xMAP bead-based technology, Luminex multiplex assays can simultaneously detect and quantify up to 80 secreted proteins in a single well using kits from various manufacturers. Their extensive library includes cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, and other proteins across multiple species such as human, mouse, rat, non-human primate, canine, and porcine, providing comprehensive insights for diverse biological research. Additionally, this multiplex technology is adaptable for gene expression analysis. When combined with branched DNA (bDNA) technology, it can measure up to 80 gene targets with specific multiplex assays. This capability enables multi-omics studies on a single validated platform, as supported by numerous publications. The Luminex system offers accuracy and sensitivity comparable to traditional methods like ELISA and qPCR but with significantly greater efficiency and throughput.
