Nguyen Dang Dao is a PhD researcher at the Department of Architecture, National University of Singapore, under the ASEAN Graduate Scholarship. His research focuses on participatory planning in the coastal cities of Vietnam, in comparison with China and other Southeast Asian countries. He co-founded the Young Urbanists of Southeast Asia (YUSEA), a network of young professionals dedicated to promoting youth-led urban innovation across the region.

Prior to joining NUS, Dao worked with the Cornell Center for Cities and UN-Habitat. He holds master’s degrees from the Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University and the Yenching Academy of Peking University, where he received the Best Academic Performance Award.
